  1. supplier figure RN-JPPXFP

    FireAngel

Manufacturer data sheet for a battery powered optical smoke alarm with a 10 year sealed for life lithium battery, the alternative to a mains wired alarm where no cable can be run. Alarm sound level is a minimum 85 dB(A) at 3 metres, the same output as a mains alarm. Weight is 138g and the alarm measures 118.1 mm diameter by 31.5 mm deep. Warranty is 5 years, half the stated 10 year battery life, which is the mismatch worth flagging to a reader planning replacements.

  2. supplier figure RN-J9Z452

    FireAngel

Manufacturer data sheet for a multi-sensor smoke alarm. Sensor type is Thermoptek multi-sensor, combining optical smoke sensing with thermal enhancement so the alarm responds to both slow smouldering and fast flaming fires; FireAngel states this technology is used by over 90 per cent of UK fire and rescue services. Power is a 10 year sealed for life lithium battery. Alarm sound level is a minimum 85 dB(A) at 3 metres. It is certified to BS EN 14604:2005 +AC:2008. Dimensions are 130 mm diameter by 34 mm deep and weight is 155g. Operating humidity is up to 90 per cent RH non-condensing. A hush function silences a known false alarm for 10 minutes and reactivates if more smoke is detected, and a Sleep Easy function silences a low battery chirp for 8 hours. Warranty is 5 years.

    Forbo Flooring Systems

Manufacturer technical specification for Marmoleum linoleum sheet. Total thickness to EN-ISO 24346 is 2.5, 3.2, 3.5 and 4.0 mm across the range. Use classification to EN-ISO 10874 is Class 23 domestic on every thickness, but commercial class steps from 32 at 2.5mm to 34 at 3.2mm and 33 at 3.5 and 4.0mm, and light industrial from 43 down to 41, so thickness buys commercial durability rather than domestic durability. Residual indentation to EN-ISO 24343-1 is a typical 0.08 mm at 2.5mm rising to 0.25 mm at 4.0mm, against a stated limit of 0.15 mm. Flexibility to EN-ISO 24344 is a 40 mm mandrel at 2.5mm, 50 mm at 3.2mm and 60 mm at 4.0mm. Impact sound reduction to EN-ISO 717-2 is up to 5 dB. Cigarette resistance to EN 1399 is stated as no melting of the surface, with marks removable. This is the sheet to cite when a note explains that a thicker linoleum is not automatically a longer lasting domestic floor.

    Geberit

Manufacturer catalogue data for a Duofix installation frame for a wall hung WC. Frame height is 112 cm, with 82 cm and 98 cm versions also listed, and the frame carries an Alpha concealed cistern 12 cm deep. Flush volume is 6 litres full and 3 litres reduced on this model, with 5.8 / 3 litre variants across the rest of the range, which is the number that matters for a water meter. Operating flow pressure range is 0.1 to 10 bar. The WC connection set is 90 mm diameter with a 90 degree PE-HD connection bend and a PE-HD adaptor socket stepping 90 mm up to 110 mm, so the frame connects into standard 110 mm soil pipe. Actuation is via an Alpha01 dual flush plate in round or square. Geberit states the Alpha cisterns meet EN 14055 Class II and are insulated against condensation.

  5. supplier figure RN-QUZYKL

    Interfloor (Duralay)

Manufacturer data for a high density resilient rubber acoustic underlay. Thickness is 4.20 mm, sound insulation is 24 dB and heat insulation is 0.33 tog. Interfloor states it is independently tested to a sound reduction rating of 53 Sone, the in-room drum sound measure, which is better than the 56 Sone of the same maker's Timbermate Excel. At 0.33 tog it is close to the 0.35 m2K/W Heatflow underlay in thermal terms so it can go over underfloor heating, while giving 24 dB impact sound reduction against 21 dB for Heatflow and 23 dB for Timbermate Excel. These three figures side by side are what a reader needs to choose an underlay for a flat.

  6. supplier figure RN-YHO4LQ

    Interfloor (Duralay)

Manufacturer technical sheet for a sponge rubber underlay for wood and laminate flooring. Thermal resistance is 0.55 tog, which is below the 0.8 tog ceiling generally recommended for underfloor heating, so heat can pass through rather than being insulated away from the room. Impact sound reduction (delta Lw) is 23 dB. Drum sound emission, the in-room loudness measure that actually decides whether a laminate floor sounds hollow, is 56 Sone. It incorporates a Vapourstop moisture barrier and is stated as suitable for use with underfloor heating. The tog figure is the number to check before laying any underlay over a heated floor.

  10. supplier figure RN-6TH72Y

    Junckers

Manufacturer product data for 2-strip solid hardwood flooring, with the thermal figures that decide whether a wood floor can sit over underfloor heating. Thermal conductivity is approximately 0.17 W/mK, giving a thermal resistance of about 0.08 m2K/W at 14 mm and about 0.13 m2K/W at 22 mm, so a thicker board roughly halves the heat getting through. Boards are 14 x 129 mm and 22 x 129 mm, with actual finished dimensions of 13.8 mm and 21.8 mm thick and 128.8 mm wide, all to plus or minus 0.2 mm. Lengths are 1830 and 900 mm at 14 mm, and 3700, 1830 and 900 mm at 22 mm, to plus or minus 1.0 mm. Board ends are right angled to plus or minus 0.3 mm and landing deviation is 0.2 mm locally up to 0.3 mm. The expansion strip is 3 x 8 mm for 22 mm floors and 3 x 4 mm for 14 mm floors, giving a 2 mm joint that varies through the year with relative humidity. Factory lacquer film thickness is a minimum of 40 microns.

  11. supplier figure RN-2MA2J2

    Junckers

Manufacturer product data for solid hardwood plank flooring. Planks are supplied at 15 x 129 mm, 20.5 x 140 mm and 20.5 x 185 mm, factory finished, tongued and grooved on all four sides with a bevelled edge of about 0.5 mm along the length. Lengths run from 600 mm up to 3000 mm depending on grade, with the Nature grade supplied in random lengths from 600 to 2800 mm in 100 mm intervals. Manufacturing tolerances are plus or minus 0.2 mm on thickness, plus or minus 0.4 mm on width at 129 mm and plus or minus 0.5 mm at 140 and 185 mm, with plus or minus 1.0 mm on length. The floor is kiln dried to an average moisture content of 8 per cent plus or minus 2 for Oak and 9 per cent plus or minus 2 for Black Oak, the figure that governs how long a floor must acclimatise before laying. Untreated floors are finish sanded to grit 150. An expansion strip measuring 3 x 8 mm gives a 2 mm wide joint when installed.

  12. supplier figure RN-YI7C4M

    Karndean Designflooring

The manufacturer's own definition of a lifetime flooring warranty, which is the detail a buyer needs. Karndean states that Lifetime is defined as 35 years. Residential cover is Lifetime across every range, but the commercial and light commercial periods vary by collection: Art Select 20 years, Solid Colours 3.0 mm 20 years, Heritage 15 years, Karndean LooseLay 15 years, Opus and Opus Enhance 15 years, Solid Colours 2.5 mm 15 years, Van Gogh 15 years, Korlok and Korlok Regent 15 years, and Kaleidoscope, Knight Tile, Knight Tile Rigid Core and Knight Tile Quiet only 10 years. Several ranges marked with an asterisk carry no light commercial cover at all. The 35 year definition is the single most quotable figure here, because a lifetime warranty on flooring is commonly assumed to be open ended.

  13. supplier figure RN-Q7RRFY

    Karndean Designflooring

Manufacturer product data for a Karndean rigid core LVT plank. It uses a 5G vertical click locking system installed without adhesive, cutting substrate preparation compared with a glue down floor. The manufacturer states the floor is suited to underfloor heating systems up to 27C, which is the surface temperature limit that governs how an LVT floor and a heat pump underfloor system have to be designed together. All Karndean residential floors carry a 35 year warranty.

    Kingspan Insulation

Phenolic insulation core bonded to 12.5 mm tapered edge gypsum plasterboard, board size 2400 x 1200 mm. Insulation core thermal conductivity 0.019 W/mK; plasterboard component 0.19 W/mK. Published R-values by product thickness (m2K/W): 25 mm 1.30, 30 mm 1.55, 40 mm 2.10, 45 mm 2.35, 50 mm 2.60, 60 mm 3.15, 70 mm 3.65, 80 mm 4.20, plus 0.065 for the 12.5 mm plasterboard component. Water vapour resistance of the non-plasterboard component typically greater than 100 MNs/g to BS EN 12086: 2013; take the plasterboard component as 50 MNs/gm resistivity for condensation risk. Fire: K118 achieves European Classification (Euroclass) B-s1,d0 when classified to EN 13501-1: 2018, and the plasterboard element alone achieves Euroclass A2-s1,d0.

  15. supplier figure RN-LMDZSS

    Knauf

Manufacturer product data for 12.5mm moisture resistant plasterboard. Sheets are 1200mm wide at 2400mm (27.36 kg), 2700mm (30.78 kg) and 3000mm (34.2 kg). Comparing directly with the same maker's standard 12.5mm wallboard at 24.333 kg for a 2400mm sheet, the moisture panel is about 12 per cent heavier for identical dimensions, the additional mass being the water repellent additive in the core. There is no small format sheet in this range, so every board is a two person lift.

  16. supplier figure RN-Q17DQ9

    Knauf

Manufacturer product data for 12.5mm high density acoustic plasterboard. Sheets are 1200mm wide at 2400mm (33.12 kg), 2700mm (37.26 kg) and 3000mm (41.4 kg), which works out at about 11.5 kg per m2. Set against the same maker's standard 12.5mm wallboard at 24.333 kg for an identical 1200 x 2400mm sheet, the acoustic board is 36 per cent heavier, and that added mass is the entire acoustic mechanism. It is also 8.8 kg heavier per sheet, which is what makes a soundproofing upgrade physically harder work than a plain reboard.

  17. supplier figure RN-65PLTP

    Knauf

Manufacturer product data for Knauf Soundshield Plus 15mm high density acoustic plasterboard. Boards are 1200mm wide and 15mm thick, supplied at 2400mm, 2700mm and 3000mm lengths weighing 38.304 kg, 43.092 kg and 47.88 kg per board respectively. That works out at roughly 13.3 kg per m2, about a third heavier than standard 12.5mm wallboard, which is the whole point of the board and also the reason a 2.4m sheet is a two person lift. Knauf states that as part of a full Knauf system the 15mm board contributes up to 54 dB Rw sound reduction and up to 120 minutes fire protection, and carries a severe duty impact rating.

  18. supplier figure RN-SHIG71

    Knauf

Manufacturer product data for standard 12.5mm plasterboard. Sheets are 1200mm wide at 2400mm (24.333 kg), 2500mm (23.7 kg), 2700mm (29.16 kg) and 3000mm (28.44 kg and 29.52 kg on the variants), plus a small 900 x 1800mm sheet at 12.8 kg. The 900 x 1800mm sheet at 12.8 kg is the one that matters for a domestic job because a single person can carry it up a staircase, while a 1200 x 2400mm sheet at over 24 kg needs two. The board is stated as suited to receive a plaster, a ready-mixed finish or direct decoration.

  19. supplier figure RN-AB6IQB

    Knauf

Manufacturer product data for 9.5mm standard plasterboard, the thinner board normally used on ceilings and for overboarding. Sheets are 1200 x 1800mm at 17.856 kg and 1200 x 2400mm, with a 900mm wide sheet at 10.044 kg. Comparing with the same maker's 12.5mm wallboard at 24.333 kg for a 1200 x 2400mm sheet, the 9.5mm board is meaningfully lighter, which is why it is the ceiling board, but it also has less fire and acoustic mass and needs closer joist centres to avoid sagging.

  20. supplier figure RN-JGE6YW

    Knauf

Manufacturer product data for standard plasterboard with an integral vapour control layer, the board used on the warm side of an insulated wall or roof to stop moisture reaching the cold structure. Sheets are 1200mm wide at 2400mm (22.75 kg), 2438mm (23.11 kg) and 2700mm (25.6 kg), plus a 900 x 1800mm sheet at 12.8 kg. It is lighter than the same maker's plain 12.5mm wallboard at 2400mm (24.333 kg), so the vapour layer adds no meaningful weight and the choice is purely about the wall build-up.

  21. supplier figure RN-IWZXA3

The pack weights of roughly 18 kg for under 3 m2 are the practical figure: a 20 m2 room is seven packs and about 130 kg to carry in.

  26. supplier figure RN-5TZA77

    Quick-Step (Unilin)

Manufacturer technical data sheet for a 12.0mm water resistant laminate. Planks are 190mm wide by 1380mm long with 1.311 m2 per pack, which is the figure needed to convert a room area into packs. Usage class to EN 13329 is 21-22-23/31-32-33, so it is rated for heavy domestic and heavy commercial use. Wear class is AC5, the top rating. Water resistance warranty is 15 years domestic and 10 years commercial, alongside a 10 year commercial use warranty subject to conditions. Impact resistance is declared to EN 17368. The distinction between a 15 year water resistance warranty and the lifetime product warranty on the same floor is the detail a reader should be shown.

  27. supplier figure RN-VXQJJP

    Quick-Step (Unilin)

The manufacturer's own warranty conditions, which set out what a lifetime laminate guarantee actually means. Residential cover by collection runs 15 years, 20 years for Creo, 25 years for Largo and Lifetime on others, with separate commercial periods of 5 or 10 years and a separate water resistance and click system warranty per collection. Lifetime is defined as the lifetime of the first owner and is not transferable, and the warranty applies only to the first owner and first installation. The lifetime joint warranty only applies to permanently open joints wider than 0.2mm. Water resistance cover in wet areas depends on installing with a compressible PE foam expansion strip (NEFOAMSTRIP20) and an elastic waterproof sealant, with exposed sealant and foam strip to be checked every 3 years, and excludes flood damage. Sand and dust must be kept off the floor with a suitable entrance mat, and only recommended Quick-Step accessories may be used. Metal Quick-Step profiles are required for commercial use, and product class must match usage class for the standard commercial warranty to apply.

  34. supplier figure RN-SB0GF7

    Ronseal

Manufacturer data for a mould resistant interior paint. Coverage is up to 12 m2 per litre and two coats are specified, with more if covering a dark colour. It is touch dry in 1 to 2 hours and recoatable in 4 hours. The claim is that surfaces stay mould free for up to 6 years. The 12 m2 per litre figure is double the same maker's anti condensation paint, so the two products are not interchangeable when estimating quantities.

  35. supplier figure RN-UKMMP3

    Ronseal

Manufacturer data for an anti condensation paint. Coverage is only up to 6 m2 per litre, a little over a third of a standard emulsion, which is the practical consequence of the insulating additive and the number a reader needs before buying. It must be applied in temperatures above 10C with doors and windows open for ventilation. This is the source for the point that anti condensation paint is a surface temperature measure, not a substitute for ventilation or insulation.

  36. supplier figure RN-95ALY4

    Ronseal

Manufacturer data for a gun-free trigger expanding foam filler. It more than doubles in size to fill the hole and dries in one hour. Once cured it can be cut, sanded, plastered and painted and is stated not to shrink or crack. It is suitable in wood, metal, glass and masonry, inside or outside, and insulates against heat, sound and moisture. Colour is white with a matt finish, supplied in 300ml and 500ml cans, sprayed from the can. VOC content is declared as very high, the reason for ventilating and masking before use.

  37. supplier figure RN-BXNLP8

    Ronseal

Manufacturer application data for Ronseal Fence Life Plus. Coverage is up to 6 m2 per litre, far lower than an interior emulsion, which is the number to use when estimating for a rough sawn fence. Ronseal states the treatment lasts up to 5 years. It cannot be applied in the rain and needs a warm dry day with temperatures above 10C, since cold weather stops it drying properly and it can wash off. The manufacturer instruction is to overlap each pass by 50 per cent for proper coverage.

  38. supplier figure RN-TLX3O4

    Ronseal

Manufacturer coverage and application data for an interior multi surface paint. Coverage is 10 m2 per litre, so a 2.5 litre tin covers up to 25 m2 and a 5 litre tin up to 50 m2, the arithmetic a reader needs to size a tin against a room. It is touch dry in 1 hour and a second coat can go on after 2 to 4 hours, and the paint must not be thinned. The room must be above 10C. Ronseal states the paint is 100 per cent washable and resistant to staining and most types of mould, with a 6 year anti mould claim, but the film must be allowed at least 1 week to harden before it is washed down. Preparation on woodwork is a light sand with 120 grit, wiping dust with a damp cloth, filling holes and treating knots with a knot blocking primer.

  39. supplier figure RN-VQ8ALF

    Saint-Gobain Glass UK

Saint-Gobain TIMELESS anti-corrosion glass for shower enclosures and bath screens: a near-invisible fully mineral coating applied to PLANICLEAR low-iron clear float glass, resisting limescale, dirt and corrosion so the glass does not develop the white haze that dulls standard shower glass. It cleans with standard household methods rather than specialist cleaners, contains no intentionally added organic chemicals such as PFAS, is recyclable, and carries a 10-year guarantee against corrosion.

  40. supplier figure RN-B93N4C

    Schluter Systems

Manufacturer data for the DITRA family of polyethylene uncoupling membranes used under ceramic and stone tiling. DITRA is 3.5 mm thick (1/8 inch), which keeps the tile assembly thin and reduces the step down to adjoining floor finishes, while DITRA-XL is 7 mm (5/16 inch). The membrane is a grid of square cavities each cut back in a dovetail, with an anchoring fleece laminated to the underside that is embedded in thin-set mortar for a mechanical bond to the substrate. Mortar coverage requirements are more than 80 per cent for dry applications and more than 95 per cent for exterior or shower installations, which is the workmanship figure that decides whether a tiled shower floor will hold up. Besides uncoupling, the membrane provides waterproofing and vapour management.
