    Helifix (Leviat)

BowTie is a long stainless steel tie that stabilises bulging walls by securing them into the ends of internal floor joists, with no external pattress plates. The BowTie HD is a heavy duty 12 mm diameter threaded bar with a self-cutting end, used where the wall must be tied back to internal floor joists or roof beams running parallel to it. Self-tapping so timbers do not split, suitable for hardwood, and installed from outside. Kit components: clearance-hole drill bit, BowTies, power support tool, HD Driver, hand support tool, and PolyPlus resin cartridge with extension nozzles and applicator.

  18. supplier figure RN-VQLRYT

    Helifix (Leviat)

Kit contents: 10 x 1 m lengths of 6 mm HeliBar, one 3 litre tub of HeliBond cementitious grout, mortar chisel and rake, mixing paddle, and an applicator with nozzle. A 3-jaw-chuck power drill is needed but not supplied. Dimensions that matter: slots are cut into the horizontal mortar beds a minimum of 500 mm either side of the crack, and are 10 mm wide as standard to take the 6 mm HeliBar, with 4.5 mm HeliBar used for thin joints. Where two or more cracks are close together one continuous bar is used, long enough to extend 500 mm beyond the outer cracks, so three cracks at 250 mm apart need a 1.5 m bar. Slots are prepared with HeliPrimer WB or thoroughly wetted, HeliBond is the recommended bonding agent, and PolyPlus resin is used for small jobs or where load is applied quickly. Suitable for listed and historic structures and lime mortar.

    Helifix (Leviat)

DryFix is a one-piece grade 316 stainless steel tie driven in with an SDS hammer drill and a Power Driver Attachment, needing no resin, grout or mechanical expansion. It works in brick, block, concrete, hard mortar and timber, in cavity and solid walls, hollow materials and close to edges, and the installed tie sits recessed below the face of the masonry. Multiple drip points stop water crossing the cavity, and it can be driven through insulation without affecting thermal performance. System components are the DryFix tie, RP drill bits for pilot holes, the Power Driver Attachment and extension, and a Load Test Unit with Pull Test Key. Variants: DryFix Terracotta for delicate terracotta, DryFix RenderPin for loose render and DryFix Asymmetric for a soft outer leaf on a hard inner leaf.

    Helifix (Leviat)

HeliBar is austenitic stainless steel helical reinforcing bar. It starts as round wire with a typical 0.2% proof stress of 500 N/mm2; the cold forming process that creates the helical hi-fin profile more than doubles that to around 1100 N/mm2. Bars are bonded into cut slots with HeliBond thixotropic cementitious grout, the composite action being the basis of the Helibeam System. Short 1 m lengths are used singly for crack stitching; longer lengths are used in pairs to form masonry beams that redistribute loads from foundation movement, and to create or reinstate failed lintels. Using 400 mm bars bonded at one end only, with the free end in a bonded sleeve, forms a movement joint. Applications listed include crack stitching, lintel repair, deep masonry beams, horizontal restraint with BowTie, reconnecting separated walls, securing parapets and supporting masonry over new openings.

Site rules for erecting JJI-Joists. Solid timber stability blocks must be a minimum 38 x 125 mm, cut squarely to maintain joist spacing and fastened with a minimum of two 3.35 x 65 mm nails; blocks must be fixed to at least three joists and cover a minimum distance of 1200 mm. Temporary bracing uses 22 x 97 mm continuous longitudinal binders and 22 x 97 mm diagonal braces, with the bracing system at one end of the joist run. Joists must be erected straight and vertical, with maximum deviation from horizontal of 10 mm and from vertical of 2 mm. Loading limit during erection: the weight of material placed on a single joist must not exceed 250 kg, reduced to 200 kg for 195 mm deep joists, and timber bearers are recommended to spread the load. A minimum of 675 mm of cured masonry is required before loading. The guide also sets out the conditions that are not permitted and the service hole rules.

    Kingspan Insulation

Rock mineral fibre slab with a thermal conductivity of 0.036 W/mK and a density of 28 to 32 kg/m3. Slab size 1.22 m x 0.61 m, so 610 mm wide slabs friction fit between studs at 600 mm centres. Fire: under System 1 AVCP, K-Roc Framing Slab achieves European Classification (Euroclass) A1 when classified to EN 13501-1: 2018. Supporting fire resistance test reports to BS EN 1364-1: 2015 and a BS EN 13501-2: 2016 classification report are listed.
